Description
Richard Segalman (American, 1934-2021). This watercolor painting on paper depicts a winter woodland landscape. The composition features a cluster of dark, vertical tree trunks set against a snow-covered ground. The artist utilizes broad washes of blue and lavender to define long shadows cast across the snow, capturing the quality of low winter light. The work is executed in a loose, impressionistic style. It is housed in a dark wood frame with a thin gilded inner lip, set within an off-white mat under glass. Signed Segalman in blue pigment in the lower right corner. Sight: 8 x 15 in. Frame: 18 x 23 in.
