Description
A three seat sofa in the Louis XV Revival style featuring a carved wood frame and teal floral damask upholstery. The sofa is constructed with a triple arched back, padded scroll arms, and a single loose seat cushion. The frame, possibly walnut or fruitwood, displays hand carved details including a central shell and acanthus leaf motif on the scalloped apron, matching carvings at the knees of the front cabriole legs, and scrolled volute feet. The upholstery is a teal floral brocade with a repeating pattern of cream, silver, and pink flowers and foliage, finished with a matching braided green gimp trim. 34″ H x 78″ L x 36″ D.
Condition report:
The sofa is in good overall condition consistent with age and use. The upholstery shows light surface wear and some creasing to the loose seat cushion, but remains free of major stains or tears. Several areas of fraying and loose threads are present on the braided gimp trim, particularly along the front apron. The wood frame exhibits minor scuffs, nicks, and small areas of finish loss on the legs and feet. The seat deck under the cushion is intact and clean.
