Description
Regency style settee featuring a stained wood frame. The design includes a curved, scrolled top rail and woven caning on both the backrest and the seat. A central oval wooden medallion is integrated into the back caning, displaying a hand-painted floral motif of white and yellow blossoms. The frame is supported by slender turned front legs and splayed back legs. The piece includes a loose, tufted velvet seat cushion in a tan color, trimmed with gold-tone looped fringe and four decorative tassels. 35.5″ H x 44″ W x 18″ D. Seat height 18 in.
Condition report:
The wood frame exhibits surface wear, scuffs, and areas of finish loss, notably on the top rail and scrolled armrests. Minor nicks are present throughout the legs and rails. The woven caning remains largely intact with minor wear and accumulated dust. The velvet cushion fringe shows light fraying and loose threads, and one tassel is partially detached.
