Description
A large decorative porcelain urn in the Sevres style featuring hand-painted classical scenes and ornate gilt-metal mounts. The urn is fitted with gilt-metal mounts, including twin handles designed as winged female busts, a foliate acanthus collar at the base of the ceramic body, and a flared pedestal stem. The base features incised floral and geometric patterns. 36″ H x 14″ W x 9″ D.
Condition report:
The porcelain body exhibits extensive and deep crazing to the glaze throughout. Significant wear is visible on the gilded decoration of the cobalt neck. The metal mounts show general surface wear, minor oxidation, and a darkened patina consistent with age.
