Description
This large mantel clock features a glazed porcelain case with extensive applied polychrome floral ornamentation. The case is decorated with multiple three dimensional roses in pink and yellow with green foliage against a cream colored ground with molded rococo style scrollwork and floral relief. The circular dial is white with a gold tone bezel featuring black Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic minute markers at five minute intervals. The dial is marked Unio, Quartz, and West Germany. The reverse of the case has a rectangular cutout housing a Kienzle brand battery operated quartz movement marked Germany. 14.5 x 16 x 2.5 inches.

Condition report:
The porcelain case exhibits widespread fine crazing to the glaze which is most prominent on the reverse. There are small areas of light surface grime. The delicate encrusted floral elements appear to be largely intact without significant losses or chips visible. The quartz movement is in unknown working condition as the battery compartment is currently empty and shows no signs of leakage or corrosion.
