Description
A matching pair of two-light figural wall sconces, each featuring a cast metal construction with a dark brown, glossy bronze-tone finish. Each sconce is designed with a winged cherub or putto figure standing atop a scrolled, cloud-like base. The figures hold upward-reaching branches that terminate in frosted glass shades molded into the form of open rose blossoms. The fixtures are wired for electricity using modern clear plastic-insulated wire with bare, unfinished ends. Sockets are fitted with cardboard sleeves and are designed to accommodate candelabra-base bulbs. No maker marks, signatures, or foundry stamps are visible on the castings. 16.5" H x 12" W x 8.5" D.
Condition report:
Both fixtures exhibit minor surface wear consistent with age and use, including light dust and grime accumulation within the crevices of the castings. One frosted glass rose-form shade has a prominent chip on the outer petal edge. Minor losses and scuffing are present on the dark brown finish, centered primarily on the mounting bases. As with all vintage and used lighting, these should be inspected and installed by a qualified professional before use.
