Description
A pair of Chinese carved rosewood pedestal stands or plant tables. Each stand features a circular top with a recessed five-lobed ruyi-shaped center panel. The surrounding border is decorated with delicate mother-of-pearl floral and vine inlays. The upper section features an ornate apron with intricate openwork fretwork carving, positioned beneath a secondary band of geometric mother-of-pearl inlay. Each stand is supported by four long, slender, out-curved legs joined near the base by a circular stretcher with carved openwork floral motifs. The legs terminate in stylized out-turned scrolled feet. 24.5″ H x 16″ W x 16″ D.
Condition report:
The stands are in good overall condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. Surface wear including minor scratches and scuffs is visible, particularly on the legs and feet. Small abrasions and localized loss of finish are present on the scroll feet. A minor white surface mark is visible on one leg. Small white protective pads have been added to the base of the feet. The mother-of-pearl inlay appears largely intact based on visual inspection.
