Description
A Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print by Isshosai Haruo, depicting a woman dressed in a blue and black checkered kimono holding a large yellow parasol over her shoulder. An inset cartouche in the upper left corner illustrates a scenic landscape of the Ryogoku Bridge area. Several areas of calligraphic text are present, including a poem on the right side signed by Hakutei Gyokuba. The artist’s signature, Isshosai Haruo, is located at the lower left, accompanied by a circular red seal and a fan-shaped publisher’s mark. The work is printed on paper and is mounted to a secondary paper backing. 12 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches.

Condition report:
The print exhibits significant overall toning and scattered foxing across the sheet. There is a notable area of staining and small losses to the paper at the lower left corner. Handling creases are visible throughout the sheet. The print is attached to a secondary paper backing.
