Description
This lot consists of three polychrome woodblock prints (nishiki-e) after original designs by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) from the celebrated series The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (Hoeido edition). These examples are mid-20th-century (Showa era) reprints. The three scenes depicted are Fuchu (Station 20) showing travelers crossing the Abe River; Odawara (Station 10) depicting a crossing of the Sakawa River with mountains in the background; and Yoshida (Station 35) featuring workers on scaffolding at Yoshida Castle overlooking the Toyokawa Bridge. Each print bears the series title Tokaido gojusan-tsugi no uchi and the signature Hiroshige ga. Artist seals include a red gourd-shaped Ichiryusai seal. The Fuchu print includes publisher seals for Hoeido and Takeuchi. The prints are executed on handmade paper with visible ink bleed-through on the reverse side.
Each print: 10 1/4 inches x 15 inches.

Condition report:
The prints are in good condition. The paper displays an even light toning. Minor edge wear and faint creasing are visible at the corners. The color palette remains vibrant throughout the set. There are no visible tears, major foxing, or evidence of repair.
