Description
A Victorian style half commode or bedside cabinet featuring a white marble top with gray veining. The one-piece unit is constructed with mahogany veneers and includes a single frieze drawer positioned above a single-door cupboard. Decorative elements include raised panels with recessed, stepped corners on the drawer and door fronts, flanked by fluted pilasters. The cabinet is supported by four turned bun feet. The interior of the lower cupboard contains a single wooden shelf. Hardware consists of simple turned wooden knobs. The back of the piece is finished with a plain wooden panel. 30.5″ H x 18″ W x 14″ D.
Condition report:
The piece shows visible signs of age and use. There are multiple scuffs and scratches to the mahogany finish, with significant finish loss and minor chipping along the base molding. Light surface scratches are visible on the side panels. The interior shows minor dust and debris. The marble top is in good condition, exhibiting typical surface wear but no structural cracks.
