Description
Two small decorative tables of varying styles. The first is a Gothic Revival style console or side table constructed of oak with a dark-stained finish. The trapezoidal top is mounted on four turned legs with ring and block details, joined by a conforming shaped stretcher base. The apron features architectural arches with geometric moldings. The second piece is a Rococo Revival style occasional table with a medium-brown finish. It has a shaped top featuring an inset dark surface, likely black glass or stone. The apron is decorated with deep hand-carved scrolling acanthus leaves and a central foliate motif, standing on four cabriole legs with carved floral knees and scrolled toes. Console: 19″ H x 28″ L x 12″ D.
Condition report:
The console exhibits a chip on the front edge of the top surface and general scuffing with finish loss on the stretcher and feet consistent with age and use. The occasional table shows fine surface scratches on the inset top along with minor nicks and finish wear to the carved frame and feet.
