Description
A lot consisting of two distinct round side tables of differing styles. The first is an Empire style pedestal table featuring mahogany and burr wood veneers. The top displays a central mahogany field surrounded by a wide burr wood cross-banded border with ebonized stringing inlay. The second table is an Anglo-Indian style carved wood tripod table with a dark stain. The circular top features a wide, deeply carved border of scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The base consists of three bobbin-turned legs that intersect at a central globular boss densely carved with floral patterns. Empire style table: 27″ H x 28″ tabletop diameter.
Condition report:
The Empire style table exhibits significant moisture-related blushing and clouding to the top finish, along with scattered surface scratches and minor indentations. The base shows minor nicks, edge wear, and scuffing consistent with age. The carved tripod table shows moderate wear to the top surface, including dark staining, water rings, and surface scratches. The legs show minor finish wear on the high points of the turnings.
