Description
An Art Deco acid-etched cameo glass vase designed by Pierre d’Avesn for Daum Nancy. The vase is crafted from honey-amber colored translucent glass in a flattened, bulbous form with a wide oval aperture. The exterior features an animalier motif in high relief, depicting a stylized gazelle or impala surrounded by palm trees and tropical foliage. The neck is decorated with a repeating scroll or wave border. The design utilizes acid etching to create a contrast between textured, frosted backgrounds and polished, high-gloss raised elements. The piece is signed near the base with an etched mark reading Daum Cross of Lorraine Nancy France. 12 1/8″ H x 9 1/2″ W x 4″ D.

Condition report:
Very good condition overall. The etched design remains crisp and the polished elements show a high luster. One small flea bite nick is present at the lower edge of the etched design near the base. The underside displays light surface shelf wear and faint scratches commensurate with age. No cracks or repairs are noted.
