Description

This Art Deco vase is produced by Daum Nancy and was designed by Pierre d’Avesn circa 1930. The vessel is constructed of thick-walled, mold-blown glass in a translucent smoked amber color. The exterior body features a repeating geometric pattern of textured, acid-etched chevrons and diamonds set against a polished, translucent ground. The lower edge of the body is signed with a wheel-engraved mark: DAUM followed by the Lorraine cross, NANCY, and FRANCE. 8″ H x 7.5″ diameter.

Location: 14C

Condition report:

The vase is in overall good vintage condition. There are several small surface flakes and shallow nicks visible on the polished exterior, specifically concentrated near the rim and on some of the raised smooth geometric elements. The underside shows shelf wear and fine scratches consistent with age. No major cracks or structural repairs are observed.
