Description
A circular hand-painted majolica plate produced by the Fabbrica Ferniani in Faenza, Italy. The plate features a detailed provincial genre scene set within a rural landscape. The reverse of the plate bears an underglaze mark in manganese depicting a crown above an eagle, with the inscriptions F. FERNIANI F. and the initials A. B. below. The piece is mounted in a square wooden frame with a moss-green velvet-covered mat and is secured by metal clips.

Condition report:
The plate exhibits significant condition issues, including notable chips and glaze losses along the rim at approximately the 4 o\'clock and 6 o\'clock positions. Minor surface nicks and wear are present, consistent with age and the earthenware body. The glaze shows typical crazing and minor firing pits. The metal mounting clips exhibit oxidation and have caused minor wear at the contact points on the rim. The frame is structurally sound with a wire-tension mounting system on the reverse.
