Description
A collection of 13 photographs relating to the 1980 film The Island, based on the novel by Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006) and directed by Michael Ritchie (American, 1938-2001). The group features one black-and-white promotional photograph housed in a silver-plated frame, alongside 12 loose photographs in both color and black-and-white formats. Subject matter includes candid behind-the-scenes shots of the crew on location and promotional stills featuring Michael Caine, director Michael Ritchie, author Peter Benchley, and producers David Brown and Richard D. Zanuck. Several photographs document the production process, showing actors in costume, set pieces, and camera equipment. Condition report:
The photographs are in good vintage condition with minor signs of age. Several loose prints exhibit light surface curling and minor wear along the edges. The color photographs show a slight yellow-red shift consistent with the aging of photographic paper. Two photographs have adhesive notes attached to the front surface. The silver-plated frame shows light surface scratching and minor tarnishing.
