Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006). L’Île Sanglante, Editions Pierre Belfond, 1979. This trade paperback represents the first French edition of the novel The Island, translated from the original English by Anne Villelaur. The book features pictorial wraps with cover art by Jean-Paul Naddeo illustrating a sunset over the horizon. The interior contains a title page and a copyright page identifying the original publisher as Doubleday & Company in New York. 9 1/2" H x 6 1/8" W x 7/8" D.

Condition report:
The trade paperback shows minor shelf wear and rubbing to the edges and corners of the wraps. There is noticeable tanning and oxidation to the interior text block consistent with the paper quality and age. The binding remains square and tight.
