Description
Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006). Large promotional banner produced for a WildAid organization press conference held in Taiwan during a tour of Asia. The rectangular banner is constructed of a single length of red satin-finish fabric with stitched hems on all sides. The corners are reinforced and fitted with red twisted cord loops for mounting. The text is applied using a thick white screen-printing process. The inscription in the upper left identifies Benchley as the author of Jaws. The characters in the lower right identify the event as a press conference visit to Taiwan. 24″ H x 150″ L.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The fabric exhibits moderate all-over creasing and wrinkling from storage. There is minor fraying visible on the red twisted hanging cords at the corners. The white screen-printed lettering appears bright and remains fully intact without visible loss or peeling.
