Description
Gear for Sports National Geographic Society black nylon quarter-zip pullover windbreaker jacket from the personal collection of Peter Benchley. The left chest displays an embroidered logo for the National Geographic Society. The front includes a central flap pocket with a small square metal logo tab and two zippered side pockets. The sleeves are finished with elasticized cuffs and adjustable Velcro straps, while the hem is fitted with a drawstring closure. The interior is lined with black mesh. Tagged size L. 27" W x 26 1/2" L. Sleeves 23" L.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The jacket shows moderate signs of wear throughout. There is significant oxidation, pitting, and paint loss visible on the main front zipper pull and both side pocket zipper pulls. A loose thread is visible at the bottom hem. The fabric displays moderate wrinkling from previous storage.
