David Doubilet (American, b. 1946). Cibachrome print, dolphin swimming toward a light-dappled surface. Pencil-signed lower right margin. The work is mounted with a white mat and housed in a silver-plated metal frame under glass. The verso features a printed retail gallery label for the Cranbury Station Gallery. Sight: 14 x 9 1/4 in. Frame: 20 1/4 x 16 1/4 x 1 1/8 in.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
The print surface is in an excellent state of preservation with no visible fading, foxing, or silver mirroring. The silver-plated frame exhibits minor surface scuffs and rubbing along the edges. The reverse backing board shows light handling marks and minor surface wear.
