Description
Calligraphic manuscript genealogical chart on paper, The Spanish Kings. The chart traces the lineages of the Austrian Habsburg, Spanish Habsburg, and Bourbon dynasties, commencing at the top with the unions of Ferdinand II and Isabella I, alongside Maximilian I and Mary of Burgundy. The document is executed in black and red ink with precise architectural lettering and includes a hand-colored heraldic illumination. This crest features the quartered arms of Castile and Leon beneath a stylized golden crown. A color-coded legend at the left distinguishes the different royal houses. Frame: 31 7/8″ H x 23 3/4″ W x 1″ D.

Condition report:
Uniform toning and yellowing are present across the paper support. Significant horizontal and vertical crease lines are visible from historical folding. Minor rippling is present throughout the sheet within the frame. The wooden frame exhibits light surface wear and minor scuffing to the finish. The paper backing on the verso shows several small punctures near the upper edge.
