Description
National Geographic Society (Washington, D.C.). A group of three softcover magazines published in June 1997, April 2000, and February 2002. These volumes were previously held in the personal library of author Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006), known for the 1974 novel Jaws. The April 2000 issue contains a feature titled Inside the Great White, which includes an article by Benchley focused on shark conservation. This issue’s prefatory editorial column by Bill Allen explicitly references Benchley’s contribution and his legacy. The June 1997 issue includes features on French Polynesia and the U.S.S. Constitution, and the February 2002 issue covers the eruption of Mount Etna and the coral reefs of Cuba. Unsigned. 10" H x 7" W x 1/4" D.
