A personal note from Wendy Benchley: “This photo is of Teddy Tucker of Bermuda working on uncovering a wreck using a hookah. Teddy could indeed stay down all day and would often do this for days on end. He was half fish. Bob Page’s exhibit explained the intricacies of uncovering wrecks and identifying artifacts. Peter bought the exhibit from Bob Page’s widow, and some of the artifacts in Peter’s collection came from this exhibit.”

From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.

Proceeds from the Peter Benchley Collection will benefit five ocean conservation organizations: Peter Benchley Ocean Awards, WildAid, Beneath the Waves, Blue Frontier and Environmental Defense Fund.
