Description
Americana hurricane chimney shade composed of etched clear glass. The shade features a baluster form with a flared upper rim and base. The central decorative motif consists of a spread-wing eagle positioned beneath a row of five-pointed stars, accented by flowing floral and foliate sprays. The glass exhibits minor pinpoint inclusions and air bubbles characteristic of its manufacturing process. Unsigned. 16 1/2" H x 8" diameter.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
Several small chips and nicks are visible along the upper rim. The base rim exhibits scattered minor fleabites, localized roughness, and an area of bright yellow residue. The glass body shows light surface scratches and minor scattered pinpoint inclusions.
