Description
Pair of Rococo Style gilt cast metal wall sconces. Each fixture is designed with a heavily ornamented, asymmetrical backplate featuring foliate and acanthus leaf casting. Three scrolling arms issue from the central support, terminating in wide drip pans with scalloped edges and floral bud candle cups. The construction is solid cast metal with an applied gilt finish throughout. These sconces are designed for traditional candle use and have not been electrified. The reverse of each backplate is fitted with integrated mounting brackets including pre-drilled holes for installation. Unsigned. 16″ H x 17″ W x 10″ D.

Condition report:
Good decorative condition with wear commensurate with age. Significant candle wax residue remains in the candle cups and drip pans. The gilt surface displays general tarnish, light oxidation, and rubbing on the high relief points of the casting. No visible structural breaks or repairs to the scrollwork.
