Lot 280:
Description
Table lamp constructed from a converted silver-plated trophy urn. The lamp body features a flared, beaded rim above a central vessel flanked by two ornate, scrolled foliate handles. An engraved heraldic crest on one side shows a griffin rampant standing upon a torse. The fixture is mounted on a circular pedestal base with matching beaded trim and is fitted with a brass-toned socket and a white frosted glass conical shade with a textured exterior. Unsigned. 21″ H x 9 1/2″ diameter.
Location: 9A
Condition report:
Heavy tarnish and oxidation are present across the silver-plated surfaces. Significant silver bleeding reveals the underlying copper base metal on the base, handles, and rims. The brass-toned socket exhibits surface corrosion. The electrical cord is in hazardous condition, with brittle, cracked, and peeling insulation exposing the inner wiring. Tested and currently functional.
