The serving utensils include scissor-action tongs with cast foliate scrolls, spring-action tongs with flower-shaped pads and foliate arms, sandwich tongs featuring a pierced scrollwork top plate and a decorative cartouche on the handle, and a small three-tine fork with a heart-shaped terminal. The tureen is marked Reed and Barton faintly on the underside. One pair of tongs is marked Tiffany & Co F.P.

Condition report:

General tarnish and oxidation across all silver-plated surfaces. Moderate wear to the plating on high points and edges, exposing the base metal. The ruby glass liner appears in good condition with no visible chips or cracks. The hinge and spring mechanisms are functional.
