Arthur Boyd (Australian, 1920-1999). Etching, surrealist composition. Pencil-signed Arthur Boyd lower right and inscribed 2-25 in the lower left corner. Sight: 20 x 24 1/2 in. Frame: 27 x 31 3/4 in.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
The paper exhibits significant foxing and brown spotting across the entire surface along with general toning. The gray mat is in poor condition with severe surface losses to the top paper layer and visible staining. The gold finish on the frame shows minor surface wear and the brown paper dust cover on the verso is heavily torn and brittle.
