Description
Group of 44 DC Comics Sandman comic books and associated spin-off titles, primarily written by Neil Gaiman (English, b. 1960). The collection features the landmark series published under the DC and Vertigo imprints beginning in 1989. The lot is headlined by issue 8, which features the first appearance of Death of the Endless. Included issues are 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 39, 40, 41, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 62, 63, and 64, alongside spin-off titles such as Death: The High Cost of Living and Sandman Mystery Theatre. The publications are standard saddle-stitched format with full-color interior pages and covers featuring art by Dave McKean. The front covers are marked with the DC and Vertigo logos, and issue 8 features a large Batman logo on the back cover. Credits for Gaiman, Dringenberg, and Jones are printed on the front cover of issue 8.
Condition report:
Issue 8 is a raw, unslabbed copy exhibiting minor spine stress ticks that break color and light blunting at the corners, most notably on the lower right. The interior pages are off-white to white. The remaining 43 issues are stored in individual protective bags with backing boards and appear to be in well-maintained, mid-to-high grade condition. No major creasing or detachment is visible.
