Description
Willard Bascom (American, 1916-2000) and Peter Earle (British, b. 1937). Two hardcover volumes titled Deep Water, Ancient Ships: The Treasure Vault of the Mediterranean and The Treasure of the Concepción: The Wreck of the Almiranta. The first work was published by Doubleday in 1976, and the second was published by Viking Press in 1980.
From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
Condition report:
Rubbing and shelf wear to the edges and corners of the dust jacket on Deep Water, Ancient Ships (photo 1). Toning and light foxing are visible on the edges of the text block for both volumes (photo 2). Small chips and minor creases at the top and bottom of the Bascom dust jacket spine (photo 5). Minor rubbing to the corners of the Earle dust jacket (photo 9).
