Description
Pair of Chinese carved Dushan Jade phoenix sculptures. The sculptures feature detailed reticulated carving throughout the foliage and feathers. Each piece is set into a wooden base. Statues: 19″ H x 10″ W x 4″ D. Bases: 3″ H x 10″ W x 5″ D.
Condition report:
One bird features a prominent horizontal crack through the lower body and wing area. Additional smaller cracks and fissures are visible in the tail feathers and foliage. One wooden base has a large split through the wood. Both bases exhibit surface wear, scuffs, and dust accumulation. Due to the delicate nature of the reticulated carving, minor chips to the leaf and petal edges may be present consistent with handling.
