The subject is depicted in a three-quarter chest-up view with dark, wavy hair and a pensive downward gaze. The drawing is presented in a simple wooden frame with a cream and brown double mat. Signed m. bolling and inscribed Kodiak Alaska ’53 in pencil in the lower left corner. Sight: 17 x 12 in. Frame: 25 x 19 1/2 in.

From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.

Condition report:

The paper exhibits overall toning consistent with age. A yellowish-brown stain is present in the lower right quadrant of the image area. The wooden frame shows minor surface scuffs and wear along the edges. The paper dust cover on the verso is severely torn and degraded, exposing the cardboard backing.
