Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Uncle Vanya. Set model, mixed media with wood, cardboard, acrylic and other materials. In a wood and plexiglass case. Model 29"W x 41"D x 12 1/4"H. As is and in production used condition, and with missing and loose pieces; case cracked. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Uncle Vanya, Circle in the Square Theatre, 1973. Tony Walton designed both the sets and costumes for the production, and later did the same for the 2000 revival of the show. Mike Nichols, George C. Scott and Nicol Williamson were all nominated for Tony Awards in 1974 for their work on the show, and Williamson won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Performance that year.
