Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Guys and Dolls. 21 pieces set design artwork, including originals and art prints. Broadway, print with collage and hand painted sections; Bell Scrim, print with hand painted lettering; Hot Box Hanger, print with handwritten notations on the mount; Show Portal, mounted photographs with handwritten notations on the mount; Mission interior, print; Day Mission exterior, print with hand painted additions and handwritten notations on the mount; Day & Night Mission exterior, print; black and white show scrim, print with some hand painted lettering, and handwritten notations on the mount (Paper Mill); Mission interior, print; storefronts, print, with and additional print of each the left and right sides; Mission door exterior, print, with attached color and fabric swatches; Mission door exterior, acrylic on black illustration board, with handwritten notations; Mission Interior Walls, gouache and collage on black board; 2 black and white Guys and Dolls proscenium headers, prints, 1 with added gold ink and both with handwritten notations on the mounts (Paper Mill); Guys & Dolls proscenium header, gouache and gold ink, and with handwritten notations on the mount; 3 Broadway / Runyonland art prints, numbered in pencil 193, 194 and 195 from the edition of 200. Hot Box Hanger 18" x 26" including mount; Runyonland prints each sheet 20 1/2" x 25 3/4"; Guys and Dolls header 9" x 21" including mounts. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Guys and Dolls, Martin Beck Theatre, 1992-1995 (unless otherwise noted). Tony Walton won a Tony Award for Scenic Design for the production in 1992, and the show and its cast and crew won several other awards, including the Tony for Best Revival the same year. Tony Walton later did the scenic design for a regional production of Guys and Dolls, Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn, NJ, 2004.
