Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of A Tale of Two Cities, Al Hirschfeld Theatre, 2008. The show opened at the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Florida before moving to Broadway. Though he would continue working as a director and occasional designer for off-Broadway, regional and ballet productions, A Tale of Two Cities was Tony Walton’s final Broadway show.
