Description

This vintage Hasbro Transformers Generation 1 (G1) Autobot Battle Station "Metroplex" action figure is a premier example of mid-1980s robotic design. Manufactured in Macau and printed in Hong Kong under license from Takara Co. Ltd., the figure is constructed from high-quality molded plastic and features the complex engineering required for its triple-changing capabilities. Metroplex is designed to transform between three distinct modes: a towering robot, a mobile battle station, and a sprawling Autobot city. The item is presented in its original illustrated cardboard box, which features iconic period artwork, transformation schematics, and the character’s technical specifications. The interior includes the original protective styrofoam insert. Identifying marks include UPC 03897605791 and official Hasbro and Takara branding. The box measures approximately 11 inches by 19 inches.

Condition: The set appears substantially complete, containing the primary Metroplex figure and various essential accessories. Included are components for the companion figures Scamper, Six-Gun, and Slammer, with several smaller parts secured in clear plastic bags within the foam tray. The original cardboard box shows visible shelf wear typical of its age, including minor crushing to the corners and fraying along the edges. The internal styrofoam tray remains in good structural condition. The figure retains its original factory-applied decals and shows no significant signs of play wear or structural damage.

Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program.  Please request in-house shipping, if needed.

Condition report:

The robot components and accessories appear to be in excellent, well-preserved condition within the internal packaging. Chrome plating on the accessories remains bright. The original box shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including scuffing along the edges, minor crushing at the corners, and a strip of yellowed adhesive tape on the lower front panel. The clear window remains intact.
