3 significant Japanese character toys from the late Showa era, focusing on the works of Osamu Tezuka. The first item is a battery-operated Flying Astro Boy (Sora Tobu Tetsuwan Atom) manufactured by Yonezawa. This figure is constructed of molded plastic and vinyl, designed for both walking and flying actions, powered by a single C-cell battery. It includes its original color-illustrated box with Japanese text and a 1981 copyright date. The second item is an Astro Boy Window Pop figure produced by Horizon (Manufacturer of Fantasy Hobby). This unique two-piece vinyl figure features a suction-cup mechanism designed to adhere to glass surfaces, creating the illusion of the character flying through a window. It comes complete with its original printed brown cardboard mailing-style box, internal instruction sheet, and a "CRASH!" graphic decal. The third piece is a Jetter Mars soft vinyl (sofubi) figure manufactured by Popy. Jetter Mars was a character created by Tezuka in 1977 as a successor to Astro Boy. This figure remains factory-sealed in its original plastic bag with a printed cardstock header featuring character art and the Popy brand logo. All items were manufactured in Japan. Largest 8 1/2" x 6 1/4" x 4".

Condition: The collection is in excellent vintage condition. The Yonezawa Astro Boy appears unused with bright colors; though the mechanism is untested. Its box shows minor age-related shelf wear, including light creasing and corner dings. The Horizon Window Pop figure remains in its original interior factory plastic bags and appears mint; the exterior box shows light scuffing and minor staining consistent with age. The Popy Jetter Mars is factory-sealed; the header card exhibits minor edge wear and a single punch hole for retail display. All components appear original and complete as issued. All untested.

Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program.  Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
