Description
A mid-19th century Japanese woodblock print (ukiyo-e) by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861). The composition features a male figure, likely a kabuki actor, in a dynamic dance pose holding two fans. He is depicted barefoot, wearing a black outer robe over a red and blue patterned undergarment. At his feet sits a wooden bucket marked with the character 悪 (aku). A circular roundel in the upper left corner depicts a woman in an ornate floral headdress playing a tsuzumi hand drum, accompanied by the inscription 浅妻 (Asazuma). The print is signed at the lower left 一勇齋 國芳画 (Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga) followed by a red paulownia seal. Two circular censor seals are visible above the signature, and a rectangular publisher mark for Ibaya Senzaburo (Ibasen) is located at the bottom center.

Condition report:
The unframed print shows significant condition issues including extensive worming (insect damage) throughout the sheet. There is visible foxing and general toning of the paper. Minor handling creases and slightly frayed edges are present.
