Description

Group of three Southeast and East Asian figures representing various Buddhist traditions and iconographic styles. The first is a seated Thai bronze figure of Phra Sangkachai (Maha Katyayana) with an open base revealing a clay casting core. The second is a gilt-bronze figure of a crowned deity, likely the Bodhisattva Vairocana or a crowned Buddha, in an East Asian style. The third is a Southeast Asian patinated metal figure of Buddha, likely Cambodian, atop a tiered pedestal. Largest figure 8″ H x 6 1/2″ W x 3 1/4″ D.

Condition report:

The Thai figure shows minor surface wear and oxidation to the patina. The gilt-bronze figure exhibits significant loss to the gilding, particularly on the face and torso, exposing the dark metal underneath. The third figure shows surface oxidation throughout.
