Description
Italian Rococo style porcelain and gilt metal six light candelabrum centerpiece. The central column features a bisque porcelain figural group depicting a seated woman in classical drapery with a putto. Below the figures is an oval porcelain bowl featuring pierced lattice work sides and scrolling shell form handles. The porcelain body is mounted on a shaped gilt metal base decorated with a central floral relief and an applied floral garland swag that wraps around the lower porcelain section. 16 1/2″ H x 24″ W x 7″ D.
Condition report:
The centerpiece is in overall good condition consistent with age. There is visible surface grime, dust, and minor staining on the bisque porcelain figures and the interior of the pierced bowl. The gilt metal shows minor wear to the gilding on high points and scattered oxidation and verdigris, particularly inside the candle nozzles. The underside reveals oxidation to the central metal mounting hardware. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
