Description
Pair of Sevres ormolu mounted porcelain jardinieres. The porcelain bodies are finished in a bleu celeste ground and feature two hand-painted reserves. The blue ground is decorated with gilded patterning. The gilt bronze mounts include bases featuring four rearing horses and two Triton figures blowing conch shells among waves. Marked on the underside of the porcelain inserts. 13″ H x 13″ W x 8″ D.
Condition report:
Visible cracks are present in the gilt bronze handles and the top rim mounts. There is oxidation, surface wear, and loss to the gilding across all metal components. The porcelain inserts show loose fitment within the bronze mounts. Minor wear is present on the gilded decoration of the porcelain. The undersides of the porcelain inserts show brown staining and accumulated grime. One bowl has small metal rings attached to the interior rim.
