Description
A large modernist centerpiece tazza or compote bowl manufactured by Shreve and Co. The piece features a wide, shallow bowl on a slender, flared stem with a central knop, terminating in a broad, circular weighted base. The underside of the base is stamped Sterling Shreve and Co San Francisco along the upper curve of the center, with Base Loaded and the model number 7605 stamped in the center. 1,001.9 grams total. 12″ H x 10″ W (bowl).
Condition report:
The item shows significant all-over tarnish and surface wear. There are visible areas of finish wear or bleeding revealing yellowish and coppery undertones, particularly on the stem and lower portion of the bowl. Scattered fine scratches and minor pitting are present throughout. No significant dents or structural issues were observed.
