Description
Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese, 1786–1865). Woodblock depicting Act VI (Dai-rokudanme) from the Kabuki play Kanadehon Chushingura (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers). Signed lower right with the art name Kochoro Toyokuni ga followed by a red artist seal. It is an unframed sheet without an edition number. 8 1/4 x 13 7/8 inches. Location: 14C
Condition report:
The print exhibits moderate toning and scattered foxing consistent with age, most notably visible on the reverse side. Colors have softened over time but remain legible. The edges show minor wear and small handling creases. No significant tears or losses are present.
