Lot 251:
Description
This lot consists of two cast bronze figures depicting a rooster and a hen. The rooster is modeled in a standing, crowing posture with an open beak and a long, curved tail, while the hen is depicted in a foraging pose with its head lowered. Both figures exhibit detailed, naturalistic texturing of the plumage throughout. The statues are finished with a dark brown patina, contrasted by gilded highlights on the combs, wattles, beaks, and select tail feathers. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces or the undersides of the feet. 11″ H x 10″ L x 5″ W. Location: 19D
Condition report:
The statues are in good overall condition. Minor surface wear and rubbing are present, particularly on the gilded highlights of the combs and tails. Small areas of green verdigris oxidation are visible in the deep crevices of the feathers and on the undersides of the feet. No structural cracks or missing parts are noted.
