August Uncurated Summer Auction
Lot 26:
Description
This group features multiple floral-encrusted porcelain items, including a pair of three-light candelabra and a pair of potpourri urns, in the style of the Sitzendorf Porcelain Factory. The candelabra are decorated with central figures dressed in 18th-century attire standing against floral-encrusted tree trunks that support three flower-form candle nozzles. The potpourri urns exhibit an ovoid shape with putti figures perched on the shoulders and pierced, domed covers topped with floral finials. Candelabra 9 1/2″ H x 6 1/2″ W. Urns 10 1/2″ H x 5 1/2″ W. Location: 15B
Condition report:
The covers of the potpourri urns are glued to the bodies. Two small porcelain branch fragments from the candelabra are detached but included. There are scattered chips, nicks, and minor losses to the delicate applied flower petals and foliage throughout all pieces. Minor wear to the gilding is present, and the items show general age-related wear.
