Description
Vintage antiqued Venetian style wall mirror. This large-scale rectangular wall mirror features a segmented glass plate design consisting of a central oval panel framed by outer rectangular and trapezoidal sections. Each intersection of the glass segments is accented with a small, circular gilt-finished floral rosette mount. The outer frame is finished in a metallic gilt and includes an inner border with a repeating foliate bead and reel pattern. The mirror plate displays significant and widespread foxing and silvering loss throughout all panels, resulting in a heavily distressed and antiqued appearance characteristic of this style. The glass appears original to the frame and treatment. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The mirror glass displays widespread intentional foxing and mottled silvering loss to create an antiqued finish. The gilt frame shows minor surface wear, light abrasions, and dust accumulation consistent with age and use. No cracks or chips are visible to the glass panels. 58" x 47"
