Description
A pair of contemporary armchairs in the William and Mary revival style. The frames are crafted from black-lacquered wood featuring characteristic Solomonic or barley-twist turnings on the front legs, arm supports, and H-form stretchers. The tall backs are topped with a triple-arched or crenellated crest rail. Both chairs are upholstered in a bold, wide-striped black and cream fabric, accented with brass nailhead trim along the seat and back perimeters. The scrolled arms terminate in turned supports, and the rear legs are square in section with a slight rake. 50 x 25.5 x 21 inches. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The chairs are in excellent contemporary condition. The upholstery is clean and taut with no visible stains, tears, or fraying. The black-lacquered finish is well-preserved across both frames, showing no significant chips, scratches, or wear. The frames are structurally sound and stable.
