One print is by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga, and includes the publisher mark for Kagaya Kichibei alongside the circular censor seals of Nanami and Yoshimura. It illustrates five male figures in traditional attire on a wooden veranda with a landscape background. Two prints are by Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III, 1786-1865), signed Kunisada ga with the red Toshidama seal. Both Kunisada prints bear the publisher mark of Sanoya Tomigoro and the carver mark for Yokokawa Takejiro (Hori Cho). The prints are unframed. Each sheet 14 1/4 x 9 3/4 inches.
Condition report:
The prints show moderate toning, scattered foxing, and visible creasing. The Kuniyoshi print has a distinct horizontal center fold. Both Kunisada prints show vertical creases and general handling marks. Minor wormholes and edge wear are present across the lot, consistent with age and historic storage.
