Description
Rookwood Pottery earthenware coffee pot decorated in the company signature Standard Glaze, dated 1894. Marked on the underside of the base. The base bears an incised HEW monogram for artist Harriet Elizabeth Wilcox, and the interior rim of the lid features an incised M.N. mark for artist Mary Madeline Nourse.

Condition report:
The handle has been broken and repaired in three locations, showing visible horizontal seam lines and areas of overpaint. A small chip with associated glaze loss is present at the tip of the spout. A vertical hairline crack extends from the top rim of the body and shows evidence of a stable, older repair. Fine, uniform crazing is present throughout the glaze on both the body and the lid.
