Description
Rookwood earthenware raven bookends, model 2275, 1931. Marked on the underside with an impressed logo consisting of a reverse R and a P surrounded by 14 flames, the Roman numeral date XXXI, and the mold number 2275. Signed William McDonald. 5" H x 5 1/4" W x 3 1/4" D.

Condition report:
One bookend has a chip on the top of the raven\'s head near the eye. The same bookend displays a chip with a significant area of glaze loss on the lower front corner that has been repaired with a bright blue touch-up paint. Scuffs and small white surface marks are present on the flat vertical sides of both pieces. Typical minor glaze pinholes are scattered within the recessed areas of the mold.
